GeoGebra
Say you are using the speed of light a lot in your calculations in GeoGebra
, and you find it a bit inconvenient to write “ m/s” over and over. Instead, you can assign the prefix c
to the value . Then you can just type c
instead of in your calculations.
This is why prefixes are so useful. The advantage of prefixes is that you can store any value in GeoGebra
, so that you don’t have to type it over and over. It looks good too!
In order to use prefixes in GeoGebra
, you have to make them yourself first. You can do this by entering them into the Algebra View
. For example, if you want to create a prefix “k” in “kilo” as a value, you can type k = 1000
in Algebra View
.

Instruction 1
- 1.
- Open

inMenu
. - 2.
- Enter
<name of prefix> = <value of prefix>
in
Algebra View
and pressEnter
. - 3.
- The prefixes you make can be found in
Algebra View
. They can now be used for calculations inCAS
, by simply writing the prefix instead of the value assigned to it.

By applying the instructions above, GeoGebra
helps you find the answers quickly, as you can see below:
