- Choose

depending on your problem. -
If you’re asked to perform a one-sided test where the alternative hypothesis is , choose
Left-sided -
If you’re asked to perform a one-sided test where the alternative hypothesis is , choose
Right-sided -
If you’re asked to perform a two-sided test where the alternative hypothesis is , choose
Two tailed

- Enter the value from your test in the inequality or inequalities involving the random variable , and press

If the test is one-sided, the -value of the test is equal to the probability on the right-hand side.

If the test is two-sided, multiply the probability on the right-hand side by 2. This is the -value of the test.
