GeoGebra
You can use CAS
and Algebra View
to work with rational functions, and find asymptotes or the values of the function.
You can plot rational functions in Graphics View
in the same way as all other functions.
GeoGebra
has its own command for asymptotes: Asymptote(<Object>)
.
GeoGebra
Instruction 1
Asymptotes in CAS
- 1.
- Open
CAS
underView
inMenu
. - 2.
- Start typing
Asymptote(<Object>)
inCAS
. Replace<Object>
with the name of your function or expression and pressEnter
. - 3.
- The solution given is of the form
where is a horizontal or the oblique asymptote, and is a vertical asymptote.

Instruction 2
Asymptotes in Graphics View
- 1.
- Open
Algebra View
andGraphics View
underView
inMenu
. - 2.
- Type your function into
Algebra View
and pressEnter
. The function is then saved inAlgebra View
. - 3.
- Use the command
Asymptote(<Object>)
and replace<Object>
with the name of your function. The asymptotes will then appear inGraphics View
.
